I use and like the bayes rules in spamassassin. I think they are very effective. You can set up SA to show you a report of the "hits" it gets on each email classified as SPAM. I've done this, and I see that the Bayes rules do indeed work well.

I've never run spamassassin without the Bayes rules, so I don' t know what the processor hit is like.
