yes - ncurses hasn't been ported to use the MSVC dll that mingw uses.

I'll look at it later (for now, will only ensure that these changes don't
prevent it from building with the makelynx.bat script). I have a very
long list of competing distractions...

probably not - since he has to use PDCurses anyway.
