Pilot: HackMaster & BattHack -Reply

It's a matter of personal preference really. The "your batteries are low"
warning comes up at 2.00 volts, which seems like a reasonable voltage
to change alkalines. Most people report slower/eratic behavior as "early"
as 2.4 volts. I use renewals and try to switch them when they hit 2.75
volts, since they are supposed to last much longer when recharged
frequently. This still gives me a few days of usage between swaps, which
is no inconvenience at all.

FYI, ni-cad's can be used but not for more than 2 or 3 days before
requiring a recharge whether you've used your Pilot heavily or not. I've
been using a pair for a couple days and they seem to work fine, but the
voltage is definitely dropping a lot faster than alkalines.

I just installed BatteryHack and would like to say great work to both Ed
for his great extension system and to Matt for the batthack hack. Just
one question now that I now the exact voltage of my batteries at what
voltage level should I replace them? currently my meter is at about 50%
and batthack says I have 2.47v so should I let it get to about 1.5 volts
before I replace? or should I replace them much sooner??
