Pilot: Should I buy a Pilot?

     Hi,
This is my first post to this list. I discovered the existence of
the Pilot last week and have done some reading at the USR website to
learn more. I have been using an Atari Portfolio for the past 4 years
as a PDA; I have a 512K flash RAM card for it, so I can carry around a
lot of info. I do use the spreadsheet feature; hopefully one is being
developed for the Pilot. CompUSA is having a sale on Pilots this week
for $239 for the 1000 and $119 for the 1Meg memory card. This looks
like a good deal to me.
        Questions:
        1. When you put an address into the address book on the Pilot and
you don't use all the fields, do you use less memory than if you
filled out all the address fields? I assume it does not pad the empty
address fields and take up memory.
        2. How do the Pilot touch screens hold up to wear? Does USR have a
repair policy where they will replace your screen for a fee? (Atari
had a policy that if your Portfolio was broken you could return it to
them with a check for $100 and they would send you a replacement.)
        3. In appointment application, can you enter appointments at say
9:30 or 12:15? The demo just shows whole hour appointments like 9:00
     and 3:00.
        4. I understand memos can be attached to appointments, to do items
     and addresses. Is this correct.
        5. What is the response time; is it really fast? I read the USR
technical memo where files and applications are executed from RAM (in
place) so it should be very fast.
        Thanks for your help.
