RE: Pilot: Pilot making my computer dialup the net????

I'm not sure about in Desktop To Go, but I use PocketMirror and the same
thing happens when I synchronize when working offline with Outlook. It
dials to check for new mail. I don't read email on my pilot on my laptop,
so I just made email "do nothing" and don't have the problem anymore. Maybe
if you could have Outlook Express "use current connection" or something like
that (I don't use it) the PPilot would just sync with whatever was in your
inbox.

Subject: Pilot: Pilot making my computer dialup the net????

I just got a new computer last week (with win98). Every time I hotsync
(or BackupBuddy does TimeSync at 7:00am), my computer dials up
the internet. I think my computer's been logged in all week!

I'm using Outlook98/DesktopToGo as my pc software. I have my
pilot set to synchronize with Outlook mail. I have Outlook's
'internet mail' options set to not 'make connection when
checking mail' This particular option doesn't seem to matter,
if I'm not connected and hit the 'GetMail' button, it dials up
anyway. Also using AvantGo, but I think it happened before
I got AvantGo installed.

<snip...>

Thanks in advamce,
