Pilot: AvantGo 1.1

On August 28, I realized that my free trial version of AvantGo would be expiring on September 1.  Since I use AvantGo daily to download Reuters news off of Yahoo in place of a daily newspaper, I thought it was reasonable that I purchase a copy of AvantGo before it expired.

Two days ago I was contacted by the folks at AvantGo.  They informed me that starting September 1st, anyone who used it for personal, non-commercial use and didn't need tech support could get the software for free.  Not only that, they told me that they had not processed my credit card order so that it could be cancelled if I qualified for the free version.

I figured that since we always hear about bad experiences with software vendors, it was about time that we heard about a good experience for a change.
