It sounds perfectly reasonable. Have you tried using FileSynch? This is the
exact way it works for group address books, but I do not know if anyone has
tried it for calendars.
The trick is that all the FileSynch documentation assumes you have a separate
central server. In this case that server will be a single file in your PC.
