Actually, it was the developer of BrainForest (nee Outliner) who was in a
motorcycle accident.

The AportisDoc Pro release, from my limited understanding, ran into coding
problems among other things.  Apparently from an email they sent out to
registered users, they ran into problems with the original approach (coded
in Java) and had to scrap it and essentially start over again.  I believe
the problem revolved around cross-platform compatability issues with the
PC/Mac side application(s).
