Ralph Weaver was kind enough to suggest the frequency scanner from Magellan
Technologies. Oh sure, it seemed so innocent; but not for a techno junkie! I
couldn't resist. I had to check it out. At first look it seems like a dandy
little unit! Very slick looking!

Now, I really want one. Thanks Ralph (heavy sarcasm). :-) However, it's a bit
pricey. Are there any other alternatives on the market that may be a little
cheaper?
I got into this because I needed one and this was the least expensive I've
been able to find that was a professional quality product. I got started
on this because I have plans for a frequency synthesizing receiver. I
thought I could make it into a scanner, but it would cost more than the
available scanners.
