I agree completely,  and I solder the connectors whenever possible, but
sometimes the convenience of the standard connectors is nice.  You might try
"tinning" the servo lead first before you crimp them.  Trim off the very end
of the tinned area (it's a little fatter), then crimp it per usual.  The
solder holds the strands together and gives a little more meat to fill the
connector trough when you crimp it.
